That's dumb... Did you try to just tighten the silicone coupler over the TB before you cut that piece off of your stock tube?

Like I said, It should be a part included with the kit. Without the spacer in place, there would be air leaks. The cut is bad, but the end result is good. I do not think I will ever have a need for the stock intake again.

Looks like a OEM air intake!
But where they have it over lapping the engine cover is a fail in my book. And the part about having to cut your stock intake tube is lame as well.

Kinda like one of those ebuy assemblies that have to be "slightly" modified to fit anything from a Soul to a Cadillac.
Like the old man used to say, "If it don't fit, don't foce it!" |

Look at my pictures, it fits good, and the design and quality is great. The three issues that I had were minor.

Just sayin'. returning to stock might cost a c-note for a tube and engine cover.
But you're right; it does look and fit good. Probably sounds good, too. |

Very nice!
Can you post a pic of just what you had to do to your engine cover? I used the previous model (new tube and different filter). Instead of cutting my old intake, I went to o'reilly and found an equivalent thickness/diameter intake spacer. It works fine. Do make sure the connection to the throttle body is tight. Otherwise the tube can vibrate off now that their is no dampener in the tube. I believe the reason for the tube diameter difference is they are reusing the same tube from one of their other kits. I'd suspect the reason for the engine cover issue is that this is the same piece they use on the SS and it fits properly there. Just guessing though.

I'm wondering. On a motorcycle you can have issues with the air box being too small, a restriction when it's time to punch it. This one appears to be that way to me.

The SLP airbox appears to be somewhat larger than the boxes supplied by the "other" more popular brands. No need to bother with trimming the engine cover and the front duct looks interesting, too.

Here is a picture of the engine cover notch.
The air box is huge. Its bottom is on the frame rail. Around 18" deep. |
