Really doubt removing the engine cover will improve performance. But it does look cheesy, so I say remove it.

Ya, if a meteor hits your car, it will probably go through the hood, but that cover is sure to stop it..

at the track BLT4SPD had his cover off , and it made me think about how much heat the insulation under it is holding on the engine after a pass, so this friday i plan to remove it before going to the track again.

saying that running the motor with out the cover will damage something is the stupidest uneducated thing i have ever heard........

ok, I haven't looked closer at what is holding the engine cover down and I don't have my car, it is at the dealer getting GFX installed.
How do you remove the engine over?
