FYI, if dealers are putting 87 in cars, it's for one reason, PROFIT........I know it sounds crazy, but the dealer is compensated for the gas they put in all of their cars at a predetermined rate by GM and it's for the higher octane. Anything less is just more money in their pockets. They did the same thing to me and I'm at right about 1200 miles........my car is slowly coming around, but I only drive it on the weekends, so I expect it to take a little longer to resolve this issue.

FYI, I also ordered the Roto-Fab CAI today............

Ya, I don't think the car is that fast. I only have 350 miles, I'll wait and give it some time...

I have about 1290 miles on mine.. got the oil changed at about 900 or so miles.. and its become more alive since then..

My dealer told me to keep it under 4000 RPM untill at least i had the oil changed.. I havent even gotten it up to 6000 RPM yet lol i have gotten it to 5000 though lol that was when i was racing a GT lol...

So yeah it comes alive after the first oil change trust me lol

Hope this helped..

EDIT: and my dealer put 93 in it for me when it got here... pretty cool if you ask me

I'll repeat what others have said....I even started a similar thread shortly after my purchase.

Around 1500 miles, the car started to respond a lot better. I'm still a little unhappy with 1st gear from a dead stop (I have a V6man trans), but it's getting much better as I put on more miles.

Well i agree somewhat. I only have 750 miles on mine and thought it was a little slow compared to my 97 ss granted it had heads and cam and 4.10's it made 342 hp at the wheels. But we also need to remember the 5th gen is a little hefty and takes a little to get her moving. I will be installing Stainless Works full exhast this weekend and a cai when i decide on the one i want and think with a few more miles and these mods it should wake her up!

SLOW!!!!!!!

my car feels slow also, strange? I only 509 miles on her with a ported throttle body a CAI and a full system headers back..... also quad turbo chargers and I am making 850 to the real wheel with a stock tune!!!!! I am taking it back to the dealer!

(mine also had 93 octane in it from the get go..... this might be why)

Cars that weigh 3800+lbs generally do not feel as quick as cars that weigh less.
