Comp cam LS Gear Drive

Anyone heard anything thing about the new LS gear drive from Comp Cams? Seen it at the SEMA website. Looks promising just don't know how the Knock Sensors would re-act. Looks like great alternative to plastic tensioners..

This is one of those "because racecar" parts. It will cause all kinds of hell with the knock sensors. MAST has had one on the market for 3-4 years, but same problem. Would highly avoid it on anything but a purpose built race vehicle.

Nothing wrong with "plastic" tensioners. Wouldn't even consider it.

If you were a baller race car guy, something like a Jesel belt drive would be a better option.

Completely agree.

The updated C5R single roller chain and one piece 'dog bone' tensioner is more than enough for most builds....and what is found in most of our race cars.

Man haven't heard Pete Jackson Gear Drives mentioned in quite awhile Many years ago had a Gearhead Buddy talk me into putting one in a Street Car SB for the Cool " Blower" Type whine. Sounded cool but it wreaked havoc on the Valvetrain
