Hellcat Challenger & my Z/28 in VIR garage

Should be a great day at VIR and I took the opportunity to take a pic beside my friend's Hellcat Challenger.

I highly recommend installing the wicker bill. SO much control on the back end with the added downforce, acts like a different car.

Should be beautiful weather for a track day! Was it your black Z/28 I saw parked next to a white Hellcat Charger during the Victory Junction charity event April 3rd?

I had a great time at VIR. The Hellcat had plenty of straight line speed but sucked in the tight sections which is no surprise. Even as a Z/28 track newbie, it was easy to leave the 707hp kitty in the dust. This is a phenomenal track car and everyone that owns a Z/28 needs to get this car to a road course and enjoy it! It belongs at the track and it very comfortable there. The Recaro seats are so much better than the ZL1 seats for road course duty. They hug your torso in all the right places, and I didn't feel like I needed harnesses if the seat belt was locked in position. Pull the retractor all the way out and let the seatbelt ratchet back and cinch you tight. Harnesses, of course, would be more ideal. Start with 29ish psi in the tires all the way around, and they should be 35ish at the end of a 25 min session. If the ambient temp is higher, adjust accordingly. It was 75 degrees for most of my track runs. Brakes are extremely good and better than you will anticipate. I could have driven way further into the corners before braking with room to spare.

You hit the nail on the head, while the Hellcat is faster in a straight line it has to back way off in turns. The Z/28 is fast in a straight line, but it is also fast when cornering which allows the overall speed to be much higher, therefore producing faster lap times. Not just one for lap either, but instead lap after lap which increases the distance between the two even more.
