could be the cats, or exhaust related. I've read that before, but 5+ minutes before the top end sees oil is a bad thing, even at idle. If you're running break in oil, it should be 5w30 equivelant, or 10w30 at the thickest. Most modern hyd lifters don't like thick oil.
one test that I've seen done to see if there is air mixing with your oil, is fire the engine up, run it for about a minute from cold, then check the oil on your dipstick. if it looks like air mixed with oil you have an air leak, and it's almost definitely at the oil pickup tube.
Also make sure you have the proper amount of oil, of course.

I remember the oring on the pick up tube being a huge thing to watch for when doing my cam on my LS1. I just don't think that loud of a sound is going to be the cats.

Glad that you mentioned that we're definitely going to check the dipstick. How does the o ring leak? Incorrect install?

And wouldn't the o ring cause low oil pressure? I still maintain 35 psi

No, because it's compresses any air it sucks in and that contributes to your total pressure.

Yes. If left in the pump housing during reinstallation it will almost certainly damage it upon reinstallation. Or if the old one was reused without being thoroughly inspected, or if you replaced the pump with a Melling and used the wrong o-ring.
I ca't guarantee the dipstick checker thing. I've only read about it.

Yeah I'm going to check that out I'm pretty disappointed that the tuner didn't think to check that. I almost want to take the car and figure it out myself

Update: I decided to go ahead and change the oil pump to a melling and had the installer install the lower sprocket that came with the timing set. Oil pressure is still normal around 35 psi and oil temp is normal. Then I decided to just drive the car ran it up to around 6k and the noise went away! Weird thing is the sound came back later that day after driving it for some time. I've driven it for about 300 miles and the sound is still there. The only thing that out of the norm is that I didn't put the A/C belt back on yet. As far as the driving experience the cam runs great. Anyone have any ideas???

You paid a shop to do the cam install ,so I would drop the car off and tell them to get in touch with Livernois and let them both work it out. You paid for new parts and you paid for labor to install them , it is not your problem .Who ever is at fault should pick up the tab .

I would absolutely not be driving the car around like that. First video sounds much worse, similar to a rod knock. Second video just sounds like a lack of oil to the top end.

It's always a good idea to use some quality assembly lube on the top end after installation. It takes the oil a bit to get back up top. It doesn't hurt to cook your pushrods and lifters in a crockpot with some oil either. I always check new pushrods to make sure there are no restrictions prior to installation.

That's a new one to me . I always soak the lifters in oil over night ,and just blow through the pushrods to see if they have a restriction.

Yeah, cooking the pushrods isn't really needed like the lifters are. I just toss them in there at the same time and blow through them afterwards. Not really necessary at all.

It is best to wash the new PRs and then blow out the cleaner.

I'm getting oil through the pushrods now after we let it idle for a few more minutes the pushrods finally got oil but the noise never went away. The shop I'm at is trying to blame it on pushrods saying they're too long which I know is not true I'm using 7.425" that livernois recommended with a milled head.
