Anyone else have this experience?

Hey guys have a 2012 1ss ls3 car that when I'm shifting gears occasionally I'll hear a squeak...it's only when I'm on the clutch and it's definitely an outside of the car noise...I'm thinking TOB but car only has 42k miles and it's only occasionally that I'm hearing it...car has VERY loud exhaust setup and I still hear it over that...thx for any help!

Definitely beginning to notice it more especially under higher rpms 1-2 shift sounds like a metal scraping metal with no lubricant

I only did a handful of these when i did transmissions so i really dont know for sure but it could be the clutch itself. Will it do it at different positions of where you have the clutched pedal pressed? I push mine in completely which is def not needed but my long legs cause that.does your car by any chance have more of a feel to it when you go into 3rd gear? I feel more going into 3rd then i do the rest. No grinding or anything of that nature but curious if yours does.

I have this same squeak, I always thought it was coming from my CAI, but lately its been happening more and more. Haven't tried to investigate it due to work and home.

On all the older manuals i did for the most part yes. Especially the 4 speeds. Seen a few 4th gens do it but not quite as bad but i always figured it was because the 4th gens compared to the older classics had more of a sound proof on the interior.

Flush you clutch/brake fluid. Should be done every 2 years. From what iv read on here when the fluid gets dirty from clutch dust contamination the clutch will squeak.

Why would dirty hydraulic fluid cause a mechanical squeak?

Makes sense guys thx for the info...having issues under high rpms from 1 - 2 shift like it's not engaging the clutch and I miss 2nd gear I'm thinking its time for a new clutch/TOB/pressure plate

I dont know. just what someone said that they change their fluid when it starts to squeak. I guess the squeaking goes away after he changes the fluid.
