There is really no argument here, but its okay, I would be mad if i bought a automatic too.
Not here to argue either way ( I would never trade my man. for an auto.) but if the man. ls3 ran a 12.8 it must have been a pretty good launch.

hey were not allowed to argue untill Im here...so who wants to race? Cmon we all know some cars can outrun other cars when they are stock. Breakins,Octane, tire tread, launch points, shift points, driver weight, how much fuel in tank, are just a FEW factors. This is just outrageous, we are here to post about Camaros not argue. Sometimes a auto will outrun a man. Sometimes a man will outrun an auto. As far as my opion, a V8 and Man are like Sunny and Cher.

285rwhp is on the very low side man (unless it's on a mustang dyno)... you should look around...mine made 322rwhp with just the free ram air mod (using the paper filter). Any auto on a dynojet should make 295~305rwhp easy and manuals should see 305+rwhp.

Thats true-typically lose around 20% of hp through an auto on a RWHP run over a man.

Check out the quarter mile thread. An LS3 tied the fastest L99 time.

My friend back home has a '99 SS Auto with less than 10k miles ( I believe ).

My '10 SS Manual is on order currently, but when it gets in I'll be able to post a comparison.

The ls6 intake makes a difference on the pre 2001 motors. The older cars had bigger cams to give them the same hp. An ls1 is an ls1 is an ls1, until you start modding them. Yes there were differences between the years, but they all pretty much equaled each other out.
