Angry 1,000 miles - someone hit me

Someone ran into my car in a parking garage today, need a new front fender, wheel and drivers door.

His insurance is paying for it all, said I can take the car wherever I want... where would you take it? Back to the dealer or a bodyshop? I know of a good shop around here, Berli's in Plfugerville that is supposed to do good work.

Anyone in Austin have any recommendations?

If money's no issue and you have a good dealer, I'd say take it to them.

I feel your pain.

Someone hit mine in a parking lot and drove off. Only damaged the rear bumper cover but it is out of my pocket as they left without a note. Had 600 miles on the car.

EDIT: BTW They got the new cover today. The work order was approved last Monday so it took a week. I took mine to the dealer. They plan on installing on Wed.

Dealer. Definitely. You'll need a loaner while it's in the shop. Specify ALL GM parts.

Do you think they will give you a new door or simply a new door skin?

I'm guessing a new door skin... I'm worried about the availability of parts though, hopefully nothing is on backorder... I may just take it to the dealer, they said they can do it in a few days, the other shop said 2 weeks and they are pretty busy.

I would take it to a Chevy Dealer.

Or....you can take it to a dealer for the estimate which we know will give the most expensive estimate compared to non-dealer shops. Ask the other person's insurance to cut you a check for the estimated price. You may then choose, when and where and how much of the money you'll spend to fix it. Or you can go back to dealer to fix it.
The thing is, you could pocket a nice chuck of change while still getting the car fixed like new with OEM replacement parts but at a lower cost than dealer estimate.

Caliber Collision is where my ins. refers all clients...thats who fixed my truck, the one on s. lamar.

btw- some insurance polices have clauses that state you can demand all OEM parts. mine has that and my agent told me to make sure i let them know, or they'll try to overlook it.
