Installing CAI brand cold air intake

So I just got my CAI cold air intake installed. Haven't started the car up yet. Do I need to disconnect the battery for half an hour or so to reset the computer before I start it so i don't get a CEL? Or will the computer automatically readjust while its running for the first 10 mins or so?

battery should have been disconnected when you installed. at this point dont think it would matter, computer will adjust.

Whether you disconnect the battery or not the engine is still going to have to adjust to the new air flow. It will take a lot longer than 10 minutes to do this. Just drive the car normally for a while and don't do any full throttle pulls right away and it will be fine.

There's no reason to disconnect the battery other than the manufacturer's lawyer tells them to say that. All you're doing is disconnecting the MAF which is off with IGN anyway. Installed the ones on my SS and ZL1 without doing that and didn't have a CEL or any other issues.

Yeah I don't need to disconnect the battery to install a CAI. Im not an idiot. I was just wondering if I should to help the computer reset after install beaus I have read where people do get a CEL afterwards.

Will adding a CAI void the factory warranty?

I didn't disconnect my battery, either. but I didn't unplug the MAF sensor. I just unscrewed the sensor from the old airbox (still attached to the harness), set it aside, and installed the CAI. Bolted the sensor into the new intake and drove away happy.

A CAI is not going to void your warranty. It's one of the most-commonly installed aftermarket mods on any vehicle (not just Camaros). Dealers are used to seeing them and probably won't even say anything to you about it.
