3.91s. Much better gear set than the 4.10. All the 4.10s I have heard were loud. 4.10s are also weaker than the 3.91s.

Thanks for the reply I haven't heard any noise from the motives running around in 5th gens here but I'm afraid going from a 3.45 to 3.91 won't be a big difference.

It is. Its definitely noticeable. Once you put the 3.91s on, it could be too much gear for a 200 shot. Depends on what you do with the car.

Stay away from 4.10s. They are noisy. I have them and plan to lose them. Plus with what you are talking about doing its too much gear. Hooking will be a major problem. 3.91 at most. Might even think about 3.73.

It's funny, I have 4.10, and it has no noise, and I have all poly bushings on my suspension, which transfer more noise to the cabin then stock bushings. I have been down the 1/4 mile a few times, I also drive my car hard, with no problems. I've had them in my car for almost six year, I also use my car as a DD. I've herd that if you don't set up the gears right they make noise. I will be installing a LPW diff cover for add strength for the diff next week, I just got in the mail today.

I'd say your the exception rather than the rule. I've got poly bushings and solid sub-frame mounts which certainly does not help. Setup on mine is spot on checked by me and separately by very reputable a local professional race gear shop. They are just noisy. Add in the fact OP is going H/C/I and a 200 shot and 4.10s will be worthless to him. They are fun on the street with lower power numbers but just plain difficult to drive when you make big power.

Mine weren't noisy either, even with my poly bushings. Mine lasted for 60K miles before they broke (9K after supercharger was installed).

I haven't read anything about motive gear failures. Mostly just Richmond 4.10 before the 4.11 design.

I posted the 3.91 failure but I was at the track it was very sticky I left hard on drag radials but never made it past the tree. Tore it apart and it sheared roughly 10 teeth off the ring gear. I didn't side step the clutch just left it out hard and bam so I'm in the same boat right now I'm not sure what gear or manufacturer to buy? I liked the 3.91 but want the 4.11 to get to the torque curve faster. By the way car is n/a 505rwhp

What power level are most people seeing problems with gears in the factory 10bolt? Just trying to plan my build and wondering how soon the expensive back half will be coming..
