Great question. Do a search for previous threads on this. Some great comments. It really all depends on what you want they are both great cars.

I would say you should stick with the auto. You can always still manually shift with the paddles. Considering you don't have a vast experience with a stick, you might end up hating it. I love mine, but I rarely drive my car and never in heavy traffic. As far as what people like, they like a stick shift. I go to car shows and that's the one thing people always check and give me a thumbs up for.

automatic...I was a longtime manual driver, until I drove an A6 2ss. you will not be giving up anything going with the L99. and like said above, there is a manual shift option on the auto.

I'm the rare exception as to where I don't mind, and even enjoy, a stick for a daily driver. I really like to be in control of the transmission.

I completely agree. I did not learn to drive a stick until college but every car since then has been one.

With me, the thrill was gone long ago. It's gonna be personal opinion. One ting to think about though is you can save a ot of bank going with the stick.

i like the stick, its a good excuse to give people to NOT let them drive your car, plus its alot of fun, also it doesnt let you fiddle with your phone, drive and eat at the same time, ect

Go with the automatic......

The 4 main reasons in this DAY & AGE to get a stick IMO are:

#1 To try to make yourself look COOL ,whether you are 18 or 80yrs. old.
#2 Someone very young and wants to have the experience driving a stick.
#3 To save the $1,000.
#4 You have other cars & this one you will not drive much.

Back app. 30 to 50+ yrs. ago the stick 4 or 5 spd. were mainly (but not always) better than the 2 or 3 spd. Automatics.
TODAY with 6 to 8 speed automatics that is NOT the case at all !
MUCH Different Ballgame TODAY !!!!!!
