quick question belt slip and the new pulley from scol

i'm planning to get 3.4 pulley. just i need to make sure
did any one try the new (ZPE GripTec® 3.4" Magnuson TVS Pulley BLACK) from scol?any belt slip?
as i know any pulley under 3.6 belt will slip.and need tensioner.

Great option but does not address the tension which is a bigger issue.

As you go down on pulley size your increasing torque to turn the blower which stretches the belt further under load.

Think of the belt as an elastic band to some extent.

Longer belt less tension.

My supertensioner address both tension and length, our tensioner has a much stronger spring and is longer for more travel to take up more belt stretch.

The JRE supertensioner fits Maggie, SLP, and Kenne Bell superchargers.

Ted.

Do yourself a favor and call left coast 32 for one of their LC32's double wrap pulley system brackets (just shy of three hundred bucks) to go with the JRE supertensioner, you will need a longer belt than listed for it, but it fixes the poor design on the jackshaft TVS which actually pulls the belt off of the blower pulley as the tensioner works decreasing belt wrap and increasing slip, their bracket replaces the stock front bracket and idler location on the TVS and reroutes the belt and tensioner layout which takes the old design which is like 40% to 50% wrap and gives you 70% to 80% wrap like the newer models, I still had belt slip with a 8 rib and 3.4 pulley until I added this setup, now I have zero.

Check out the tensioner that I have installed on my car. East Coast Supercharger manufactures this setup and they installed one on my car. Went to a eight rib belt as well. Running about 14.5 lbs of boost and no slip at all.

That's a sweet setup as well! 90-95% wrap looks like and it improves the crank belt wrap as well, I made my own bracket and added the lower pulley for better crank wrap.

Hey OP,

I have the same pulley 3.4" SCOL griptec pulley and the JRE tensioner. Usually no slip until the belt gets a good amount of miles on it (like 10k or so miles you will see a couple psi drop when going wot occasionally). Slap a new belt on it when it starts to slip and all is well..

Never seen a pulley like that: what is the advantage over a stock pulley?
