Insurance Advice !! Plz

Hey guys . Just have a quick question and would like your opinion. Had a 2012 camaro rs since 20 with everything in my name from financing to the insurance in New York. Was paying 550 in insurance and 450 a note. now I’m currently in a 2014 2lt rs at age 22 paying 500 in insurance which is the lowest and 400 a note . I’m thinking bout buying a 2016 2ss when I’m 23 but they want 850 in insurance and that’s the lowest. My question is would you ever pay 800 dollars for insurance for a v8? Or just stay with my current car now ? is it really worth it ? New York has no love for young drivers unfortunately .

800 monthly for insurance? That's crazy! A year, that's reasonable. I pay 117 monthly through Geico, but then I'm 40 and have a clean record in CA.

That is outrageous! But if you can afford it, and are ok with paying that much, then why not? One of my older friends told me that when he was young and making decent money back in early 2000's, he purchased a new Z06 and was paying $1000 in insurance and $900 in payments a month.

Apples vs oranges... FICO score, location, car, driving record, occupation, age... to many variables to compare one to one.

This ^^^^ there are way too many factors that influence individual rates. Your next door neighbor could own the same exact year, make and model as yours, have the same insurance company and coverage but be paying a fraction of what you are based on the above and other factors.

Damn man. $550 a month for insurance on 1 car is insane... not worth it getting into a v8 for $800 a month insurance at all. Hell I wouldn't even want to pay $800/month for a car note

Is that per month?! I don't even pay that much for 3 cars every 6 months.

I would never run an insurance policy that costs $10,000 a year.

It sucks because i see everybody who lives down south or mid west only paying 2/300 dollars for a v8 my age. mean while I'm paying double.
