Mishimoto catch can fittings failed

Hey guys. I have a mishimoto catch can and have noticed that the plastic hose fittings have warped and are constantly coming loose. Has anyone upgraded these to brass? If so do you have a link to what your bought?

Thanks
Ed

Anyone contact Mishimoto for an update to their catch can? If they know this is a flaw, they should offer everyone that has purchased one upgraded replacement fittings.

I got a CEL on the way to work today and got an email from OnStar about an emissions code. I wouldn't be surprised if it's those fittings on my catch can. I'll have to check the CEL when I get home to confirm.

Word is that you can find the right brass barbs at your local hardware store.

Gonna take my plastic one to ACE and see if I can match it up. I hadn't check mine til I saw this post and sure enuff, they were loose.

Just get 2 3/8" NPT Pipe to 1/2" barbs to replace the trash plastic barbs.

I bought my car in August and was looking for a can right after purchasing, at the time Mishimoto was not in production as they were redesigning it.

Not sure if they have the new version out or not, but after reading those having these kind of concerns I went with an Elite E2

Hey guys,

If you are experiencing any issues with your catch-can, please feel free to reach out to our team at Support@Mishimoto.com. We have redesigned the baffled catch-cans to include new fittings among other improvements and would be happy to assist with warranty replacements for anyone running into problems with their system.

For a quick solution for those fittings loosening, we would recommend a bit of teflon as those are NPT style threads which are designed to be used with some sort of sealing compound.

Please feel free to reach out to us if anything comes up!

Thanks,
Justin T.
