You would think a simple software update would still allow you to control the car when the ignition is switched off while the car is in motion.

You would think a simple software update would still allow you to control the car when the ignition is switched off while the car is in motion. Genius ^^^ Would hope the GM engineers thought of it ( as they designed that CAGS sh*t based on rpms & temp oil and HSA based on the car's YAW angle ) but dismissed it as undoable? I would think it's doable at least with yrs that have e-power steering as long as the battery can provide enough amps even for a few secs until you start the car again. |

Hey guys, found this thread. I didn't know about the key fob recall.
I still have both switch blade key fobs. Did it affect the 2014s? I'm researching fixes for the crappy rubberized outside layer that is deteriorating. The auto start button fell off my working one. The "spare", due to battery corrosion, died. Maybe I get GM to replace them?? |

I just ordered 2 switch blade fobs with uncut key for $15 each from Amazon.
Found numerous youtube vids on replacing the key and on programming the new fobs. It's important to order the correct FCC code fob. I realized I have one factory GM fob and an aftermarket. |
