Red face Anybody Else Scrape the Chin Yet?

I was making a 3 point turn on a two way street and pulled into somebody's overly steep driveway and scraaaaaape! Damn...I was hoping it was just the black airdam underneath the front bumper, but nope, it was directly underneath the point of the chin. Scraped a quarter size area of paint off down to the black plastic underneath. Glad you can't see it without looking underneath the car but... knowing it is there is 90% of the pain.

Sucks...oh well.

Yup. A few A-holes were parked on the street on both sides of my narrow drive-way (which almost never happens on my side-street). I had to pull out at a strange angle and bottomed out. It scuffed up the bottom pretty bad, but as you said you can't see it unless you look for it. Sucks, but I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Yes :( My left front went up on a small curb in the middle of a parking lot exit and I guess the angle made the right front scrape. ugh.

The one at Chili's got me. Only looks bad when your car is on the lift. Now I end up stopping about 2 feet from the dam cement block!!

I scraped just the rubber thing underneath.... Scared the crap outta me so bad I haven't number two'd since!

Was making a left turn up a steep hill.... nothing on the ground or anything just a hill.

It didn't sound pretty at all.. I felt like a raisin when I heard it... immediately shrunk and felt ill... I didn't check until the following day. I think I would have tossed my cookies had I found it as mangled as it sounded like it was.

To my relief, it appeared to have just been the rubber stopper under there.. Score one for the rubber stopper designer!!

Its all fixed and 3M back on again!!

The stupid thing is I did it in the same place with the MAGNUM too 2 years prior!

Sometimes Im such a dumb ass!

That's the airdam. That's definitely what you want to scrape if anything is going to scrape! Now...when the underside of the chin scrapes forward of the airdam...then it gets upsetting.

When I first bought my car, I had a buddy drop me off at the dealership. He hadn't seen a new Camaro yet. As soon as he saw the pointed chin on the bumper, he pointed and stated, " ooh, that's going to get scraped up". I guess he was right.

I think I have a solution for you guys.......

My Brother owns an 09 Z06 and my dad had an 08 C6 Vette......

Whenever I drove either one, and I came up too a driveway for anything I would go up or down at an angle......

What this does is it provides a better aproach angle for the front end........

I highly recomend doing this to everyone who drives a Camaro....especially those with the ground effects......

I have gotten the airdam scraped on my TSX twice at my buddies place, right when I back out the driveway. There is no way in hell I will ever put my Camaro in his driveway when the time comes.
