Headers, yes or no!

Im looking to put headers on my 2010 SS. Is it loud on the inside, are any brand better(thicker for noise reduction). Anyone with regrets?

Just do it!! With a good tune you will see anywhere from 30-40rwhp gain. It will be louder than stock, but depending on your exhaust, not too loud. Unless you have a Corsa catback like some of us do..

the headers themselves really arent responsible so much for making noise as the removal of cats are

The headers weren't too loud with mufflers and cats from TSP. If was the cam that pushed me over the limit in terms of being really loud. And it's not very loud inside but outside it's a different story. I think you could use your stock mufflers and be pretty quiet or if you want to go aftermarket you could go with like a borla touring axle back that would be pretty quiet. But with a tune the new found power is well worth it.

Inside the car...
Stainless Power 1 7/8” headers with high flow cats to Corsa Sport cat back exhaust.
Normal driving is relatively quiet but, barks when you get on it. Nice balance, imho.

Absolutely. LOVE my BBK LTH and hi flow cats. Barely louder than stock so ended up with a borla s type axle back. Could still use to be a little louder for me. Headers and a good tune make night and day difference in waking these turd factory cars up. Mine would barely do a burnout stock and turns them right over now. So much more fun to drive!

Being that you are also in Florida, I say go for it. You can always install pretty much any exhaust you want to get exactly the sound and volume you want. The increase in power is absolutely worth it. Just make sure you get tuned for it.

When asked “headers” the answer should ALWAYS be YES!! The sound inside the cabin isn’t bad. I would always be able to keep running around with the radio on volume 6 without issue. No yelling to have a conversation, but it will really depend on your exhaust system on how loud headers will sound in the cabin.

As for options, here’s the forum favorites:
High priced: Kooks, ARH, Stainless Works
Mid Priced: OBX, Texas Speed, Stainless Power
Budget: Speed Engineering

BBKs fit perfect and are ceramic coated from the factory. Maybe not as good of a coating aftermarket but a great cost effective choice. I bought mine from RDP. Highly recommend.

No ragrets

Interior noise hardly amplifies. Performance gain is good.
