Parking a Manual Transmission

1. First gear/no parking brake?
2. Neutral with parking brake?

Neutral with p brake. If I'm on a really steep hill I'll put it in second just to be safe.

Camaro will be an automatic, but when I use a manual I learned neutral with parking brake.

Hello, driver training 101, in reverse with parking brake on.

Reverse is the lowest gear!

Thanks,

Kelly

neutral with parking brakes up. If on steep hill; parking brakes and first gear.

Reverse w/ the brake on. Old habit, and it's in your owners manual as the proper procedure

+1 and FTFM page 8-24

If the vehicle has a manual
transmission, before getting out of
the vehicle, move the shift lever into
R (Reverse), and firmly apply the
parking brake. Once the shift lever
has been placed into R (Reverse)
with the clutch pedal pressed in,
turn the ignition key to LOCK/OFF,
remove the key and release the
clutch.
