It is a pretty substantial power gap. I did read about that diesel the other day. Interesting way to bridge the gap -power of the DI, torque of the -V

I think that is a great price for retail.
I have the 2008 CTS (3.6DI), and it is a great car. In my opinion it is well worth the money for that class of car.
I may have to trade my '08 in for a CTS-V in a couple years.

Exactly, a ~400hp V8 seems like a natural fit between those two mills. The only reasons I can think of for a lack of the same is fear of stepping on the STS sedans toes. If that is the case it seems like a poor strategy to me since they need to accentuate the positive with the CTS as much as possible.
