I don't think the bolt pattern on the engine is the same.

I have a 2011 LS...when shifting from 1-2 no grinding but it does feel notchy. Also every once in a while, it'd feel notchy going into third or 4th when driving more spiritedly. I only have 360 miles so I'm hoping it becomes smooth like butter after I break it in. What would you guys say breaking in milage is?

9 times out of 10, mine will not go into 2nd when running it up to 6k, it's like a closed gate, what has been the dealers fix for this? I have no mods.
I didn't try this till about 5k miles, it's done it from then through now 8800 mi. I'm calling my dealer today Last edited by h2oplay; 09-15-2010 at 07:33 AM. |

Hey guys, Im another xrunner owner who is on the 2nd trans. I really hope someone comes out with a nice upgrade for this issue. If you shift 1-2 slowly and ge tthe clutch all the way to the floor It wont grind, but I rearly use 5th cause my grinds if Im doing more than 60 no matter the rpms...

ckaram - is this much time shifting into 2nd what your experiencing when you compare to a muncie? My F350 with 167,000 miles grabbed 3rd quicker than this (1st was granny gear). Note that it takes nearly 2x as long to grab 2nd as it does 3rd... on a good shift... JOKE! Last edited by CAMAR0; 09-16-2010 at 10:01 PM. |

Well its obvious by now this trannys not designed for the performance we'd like to get out of it. The internals just cant take it, even though they say its a high performance transmission. The problems I've had have smoothed out but I still haven't tried any super high rpm shifts.

I talked to the service manager yesterday, described my high rpm no 2nd gear issue, he said that's a problem. He didn't try to give me any double talk or say I shouldn't be doing that. He want's the car on monday, he believes he's going to have to deal w/corporate GM on the tranny issue....
I'll keep everyone posted here. I'm willing to keep taking this in until it's either solved or I reach the lemon limit. Most don't seem to have this issue, or they don't know they have it. |
