I went thru that last year. We won a 2010 SS from Jegs. I found out that because I didn't pay anything to get in the sweepstakes, it was an online contest, I didn't have to pay sales tax. That saved a chunk of money. Jegs registered the car in Ohio and took it to a couple events to show it off before the drawing. Because of that, it was considered to be a used car so instead of sticker price for the value I was able to use the "Fair Trade Value". I knocked $10K off the value. I didn't dare try to take any more off. I wasn't audited. My tax guy figured that I paid a little over $5000 for the car. It's hard to find a decent Rambler for that.

I had to tell Dan about the Sales Tax , deal ,, He was trying to pay the Tax to get the car on the road...

OH wait ...come to think about it , Dan still owes me a steak dinner for that one .....

Now You might save him some cash also ,,, get a Lobster dinner out of him...

he can afford it , he got a free Camaro.........

Congratulations Gary! I wasn't aware of who won that car. Glad to see it went to another New Yorker, we can have a whole section of free Camaro. Alas my car was new and sold as such. Even though they but 600+ miles on it before I got it. Im stuck with the bill now. But thxs
