This isn't just a Mustang. Did you read the entire write up from Ford? The 2012 BOSS appears to be a very well rounded muscle car. I didn't see an estimated price though...

They went farther with the engine then I thought. New intake and cams. And the steering is adjustable. The rear end is beefed up with carbon fiber plates. This is really a comprehensive package. Should make a hell of a track car.
My guess is somewhere in the 41-43k range. Above the GT Premium/Camaro SS, below the GT500 and layin an ass whooping to the SRT 8 Challenger. You likely won't see all the nav options or other comfort options like on the GT premium which is why I think the price might somewhat overlap.

Didn't see a price tag. Considering a decently spec'd 5.0 is $36-37K, are we looking at a $40+K non-Shelby Mustang?

Agreed - very nice performance package all around. Ideal for an enthusiast looking for a track-ready car. Can't say there's anything I would change

No, we're looking at the 2012 version of a highly sought after American icon. The color is subjective(see sub-lime Dodge Charger).
