Intake decision. Help now please
Okay boys. This is it. Money is in the bank.
Tomorrow I am planning on getting a Rotofab intake for my 2011 SS. I will be getting the rotofab unless someone can convince me to get something else. I am open to suggestions but I need dyno number evidence! Go! |

the cold air inductions system does seem nice. i especially like the average dyno increase.
I guess im a little biased toward the roto fab since Lingenfelter uses them. And as a general rule i defer to lingenfelter but you guys are peaking my interest here. are there any other dyno comparos that you know of? or have the Cold air inductions' numbers been verified outside this test? Also, does the Cold air inductions system require a retune? I run 91 octane |

No tune necessary. These comparisons were performed by Ted Jannetty. You can trust these results. The numbers are solid. CAI inc. is the way to go if you want real performance improvement. If aesthetics is what your after, pick your poison.

Another question...I read an intake comparison in an old gm high tech performance magazine and while most of the intakes provided dyno gains, the stock airbox was the fastest in real world acceleration. Does anyone know the story behind this?

Cooler air is denser air. Denser air means more fuel air mixture. More fuel air mixture means more power. As the chart above illustrates, every aftermarket intake tested outperformed the stock box.

Give this a read, it should help. The CAI Inc system is by far our biggest seller.

I just got my Vararam yesterday. Putting it in Saturday. check out their site before you buy many are very happy. It's the most direct air path and it comes right off the grill.
