Removing my windshield wipers - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have removed the protective cap, the hex nut, and pulled up on the wiper arm, but it's not budging. Does anyone here know if a puller or other special tool is needed to remove the wiper arm off it's shaft.

You kinda have to give it a firm wiggle as you pull on it.

or you can use a battery terminal puller that works well, but if you close your hood and lift up on the arm itself (make sure it doent hit the hood) andpush down and pull up it should let go.

Sorry man to chuckle. You have a Maggie and actually advertise it in chrome. Having trouble with wipers is a bit of an oxymoron.

Some wipers have a little locking latch underneath by the post that you have to flip to actually remove the wiper arm. My old Sunbird had them.

Once I flipped them, they came off with a little wiggling while I pulled it up.

Sorry man, but I don't see the contradiction between me having a supercharger a couple of emblems and not knowing if there is a hidden retainer or cir-clip under the wiper arm.

Ya gotta explain that one to me bro.

On American cars, they only make so many kinds. I apologize. I just figured that if you owned such a nice car and took the care to modify it properly, you could figure it out. Hence the reference. I was just ribbing you a bit.

How about "simply complicated"?

Apology not necessary. Perhaps I over reacted. I've pulled on more than a few wrenches in my past....just like to know how things are assembled before I try to dissemble.

Did you ever break something because you didn't have an assembly drawing?

Yes. In the younger hasty days. Plenty of times. Wiper assembly is not one you need to study on.

Took off bolts, twisted pried and pulled for 5 min. No luck, not a mm. I drive a early 2010 and have never been off. Any suggestions? Gonna buy a battery terminal puller today. I did all this on the one I could reach, the other...
