Thanks for your help.

One other question.....did you top off the brake resivoir with DOT 3 since that's what it says or did you mix DOT 4 with the DOT 3 fluid?
I would remove the fluid from the reservoir before you disconnect the hose. I'm planning on using a large syringe or turkey baster. After everything is connected, refill with fresh fluid. Most DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluids can be mixed...just check the label on the bottle first, just to be sure.

Here is the diagram of the GTO hydraulic clutch system that we are borrowing the reservoir from, see No 1 for P/N 92065790. (Note this reservoir does not have any holes in the bottom to attach to a master cylinder)

But then you'll have to bleed the brakes....right?

Pulling the oil out that low would probalby cause air bubbles to get in the lines.

I would think it would be easier to have a couple plugs ready to go, put a bucket or towel underneath it and try to make the switch real quick.

My plan is to fill the engine compartment with towels. (brake fluid eats paint like the cookie monster on some nestle tollhouse specials) Clamp the clutch line lightly. Pull it and plug the master. Slide on the hose clamp over the plug and tighten. Hold up the clutch line and release clamp and attach to reservoir. Fill clutch reservoir. Screw to pretapped holes on strut tower back side. About to attempt in 30mins. Will let you know how it goes along with pics of the plug pkg from autozone.

Sounds like my plan.....other than I might use a small bucket and towels.

Keep us posted on how it goes and get some pics.

Well, I didn't get around to doing my swap, either. I installed my Heritage grill instead. Here's a pic of the new reservoirs, in case anyone hasn't seen what it looks like without the clutch line tab removed. I can't exactly say it's pretty, but I'll feel more secure this way vs. using a plug:

Im just using the 3/8" cap from this kit with a hose clamp over it. Should be as secure as the original hose connection. $3.75+tax.

Depending on what those are made of you may want to switch out to EPDM caps.
