Why do that? Just rinse it out with detail spray before you use it for Windows. No sense using in using more than one rag.

Why consider it a trick ? I've used newspaper and Windex for glass at least that many years. I also use nothing but
damp 100% cotton bath towels to dry my cars. It's also worked for 30+ years. Sure beats a leaf blower imo.
Spending a lot of money on expensive cleaning products is not always the answer to a clean car.

Clean and damaged are two different terms here.

I'm not following you re: your unhappiness at the term. I just don't see how that term causes any type of negative reaction.

Its actually not uncommon... but MATTE wrapes, not gloss. Same holds true for matte paint. Glass cleaners don't deposit anything on the surface (like waxes or gloss enhancers) and evaporate quickly so they're ideal for use like a quick detailer on matte surfaces - our clarifying glass cleaner is no different.

I LOL'd

Newsprint as a glass cleaning media actually does work well, your glass won't have black ink on it, but your hands will.

Its as effective as a glass towel IMO, but you can't reuse it and keeping a stack of newspaper in my garage isn't ideal so I've moved on.

As far as the cotton bath towels comment... goes back to what I posted in that long microfiber thread - the standards for "damage free" are pretty vast between those who know what they're looking at and those that don't.

I had an interesting weekend at the 6th annual SCG car show... some of the old timers at our show were looking directly at the swirls in the hood of my demo car and couldn't see them.

"Looks perfectly normal to me" is what one of them said even as I'm literally pointing at the swirl marks. I corrected a section and it was like someone had just told them santa wasn't real. 60+ years of believing that a swirled up mess was "normal" erased in about 2 minutes. LOL

You had me at hello.
Nah. Really at the camaro fests at Indy. Technique is crucial for face melting shine. Glad you showed me the way and will have more ribs for you at the next local meet if your around Jersey.

Not unhappy- I just don't think cleaning glass with newspaper is a "trick". It's been an accepted cleaning method longer than I can remember.

I guess I'm one of the over 60 guys that doesn't know what their talking about. Insulting at the least from a product pusher.
Unlike you I have no agenda here, only saying cotton towles work for me without buying anything else.

He seems pretty genuine in that he says. Being a "product pusher" and wanting to educated people will over lap. It's the ignorance of some that will dismiss what he says because if his "agenda". I guess because you sell a product that works properly...it's complete propaganda to try to help people with it. Ignorance.

I think you might be too sensitive for the Internet. May I recommend a newspaper?

Sorry you took my post as an insult - wasn't intended that way, just pointing out that "my car doesn't have any swirls" is a statement I hear a lot and ultimately the standards people consider swirl free can be very different.

I see a white car in your avatar - that alone can be part of the reason you're not seeing them as easily. White hides imperfections really well.

If you're pleased with your solutions and process I'm not here to tell you to change anything. As many members here will attest I am here as a product rep, but I'm also here simply to help people out with info based on my many years of experience not only as an independent detailer who has worked on that side of the business as well as a technical expert and product development specialist.

Wasn't meant to be a chop at you specifically (or anyone really) - just pointing out that everyones standards are different and we don't always see the same thing. I can't even count anymore how many times I've been told at an event, a show, a clinic, or something like that "my cars paint is flawless" by someone looking for product advice. Then if the car is there we go over it and its literally covered in swirls. I'm not gonna tell the guy "Hey man, your car looks like hell!" if hes happy with it then great - I'll help him with whatever he wants and let him continue down that path. If it makes him happy then great for him.
