Rear Park Assist Shuts Off - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I could not find anyone on here that had a similar problem with the rear park assist, so here it goes.

When I put my car in reverse, the beep noise works (for the rear park assist), then as I start rolling backwards, a digital message pops up on the dash saying "Rear Park Assist OFF." This seriously isn't cool because I found this out by backing up in a parking garage spot and waited for the beeps (and they never happened). I almost hit the wall !!

I then went into the Configuration settings and checked to see if Rear Park Assist is ON, and it is ON.

Just a note...This happens every single time I put my car in reverse, and my Rear Park Assist worked for the first 2000 miles, and now my camaro has 3500 miles. I thought it might just jump back to working again, but it hasn't.

Any ideas, solutions!! If not I will obviously go to my dealership to check it out. Somehow since there isn't any issues on this yet (from what I have seen), then even the dealership won't know how to fix it.

What is this rear park assist you speak of?

Rear Park Assist is the correct name for the Backup Sensors that beep when in reverse, letting me know if I am close to a car or wall behind me.

I haven't heard of anyone having this issue yet. I'd take it to the dealer and have them check it out.

MIne beeps out of control when I'm still several feet away. Are you lightly on the gas or just rolling backwards?

It doesn't matter if I push on the gas or let the car roll backwards, the message of "Rear Park Assist Off" comes on when I put the car in reverse.
No beeps for me.

I am taking my camaro to the dealership to see what the hell this is, since I am obviously the only one who is experiencing this particular problem.

Did you ever figure out the problem? This same exact thing is happening to me now. I have an amp as well as some aac brake light halos and my assist stopped working about a month after installing the brake light halos. Also, when i go to the settings and try to turn backup assist on, it will not swith to on.

Mine stopped working and I would get "service park assist" when out in reverse. Turns out a sensor had failed.

I'm having the same issue. I replaced the reverse light with LED lights and now the park assist and the reverse lights are not working. Need help?
