Pennzoil Platinum or Royal Purple?!

Doubt you would know the difference or you're " fine", unless you take the engine apart after a significant test period.

Mobile 1 is awesome used it for years had 146,000 on my 4th gen TA when I sold it and it still ran strong. Read lots of good things about Pennzoil Platinum and use that in my 5th gen since new because I bought a bunch at a discount.

What additive do you use in RP? I'm wanting to switch, but afraid of the lack of additives.

I used Mobil 1 until this last oil change. I went to Valvoline SynPower and I noticed a huge difference in performance. Looked a little more into the oil than I normally do and now Im wanting to make the switch to Royal Purple, but I need to find which additives to use.

No additives, just using 5W-30 HPS. I run a supercharger and the LLT doesn't have an oil cooler or anything to help cool the oil, so I need synthetic.

Im not sure you would see performance gains just by switching oil, but I could be wrong but ive never heard of that happening.

Sorry that was a very broad statement. To be specific. Oil temp was down, idle was a lot smoother. That was a big enough difference for me to look deeper into which oil I should be using.

Ive never liked Valvoline for some reason, no reason in particular but I would imagine all of these synthetics now days are close in quality, ive just gotten use to Mobil 1 and Im happy.

That's what i thought too! But turns out the New Mobil 1 after Hurricane Katrina(their synthetic plant was ruined in it) Their oil is actually class 3 oil mixed with some synthetics. It is the far from being fully synthetic. Ironically due to a losing lawsuit that came from them suing another company over not being fully synthetic, they lost and they joined the mixing oils bandwagon. I guess if you cant beat them in quality, do the same shady things to make a profit!! Im sure that oil is fine, but I'm not going to pay premium price for decent oil.
