No I don't yet. It is immaterial as far as I am concerned.
I will have it home soon. When I get it, when I ordered, when it was produced, when it was shipped, when it was unloaded, when it was trucked to the dealer, doesn't matter. What matters is that we have the opportunity to own the car many of us have dreamed of. If it arrives tomorrow, or in September, really doesn't concern me one way or another. The point at which I would get upset is when those that have preordered, with valid orders through dealers that have sufficient allotments, and the cars aren't produced by Third Quarter, (which has all been stated up front many times). I will have my car, ordered the way I wanted it, priced the way I expected for a new release. And it will be as fast, handle as well, and provide me with the pleasure of driving I have only dreamed about until now. |

You have guys who are complaining and rightfully so. Let us complain. Look at it this way, do you think they would have added SAT production if we were silent? Do you think Fitzpatrick would have given a interview last week if we didn't complain? and now rumors of maybe a 2nd shift. You can choose to be silent that's cool, just don't call people whiners. =Bobby

That means that I am right there with you, but father back on the line, way back at 1100. That the problem with GM dealerships, they should be using them for ordering like you said, so does this means them orders will jump ahead of ours???...........

My concern is that it is the same old stuff every day. I ordered my car_______(fill in date here)________. It is now ________(Fill in date here)__________.
Repeatedly. Even though there have been many many posts by Fbodfather and otehrs explaining the process. (3rd Quarter!) Last I looked the end of the third quarter comes on September 30th. Sure there are several issues regarding the order system. On the other hand several folks have placed multiple orders at multiple dealers. THat kind of throws sand in the works. There are dealers who accepted orders above heir initial allotment, more sand in the works. People who just come on here to complain who haven't even placed an order. It just tends to build up into a rather large pile that starts to wear on many here. I really believe we would have much more to gripe about if those of us who placed valid pre-orders didn't have our cars by the end of the third quarter. Then, by all means, even I would be on that bandwagon. Until we have reached that date I really can't get into the complaint thing. Sorry, that's just my view. And that's about all I have to say here. |

Greenrail - I can appreciate your point of view but what I don't understand is why you keep getting involved in these discussions when clearly, it bothers you. You are not going to change the views of a disappointed R6P/Area 51 member, so why even read these posts let alone post a reply? You have made a huge point about your views on this in your "Good things come to those who wait" thread so isn't that enough? If you keep trying to change the world, the only one who is going to be upset is yourself.
One of my greatest realizations about the American industry is how we have gone from a time where industry used to bend over backwards to offer the best and to hold the consumer in the highest regard to today, it appears that expectations are the exact opposite. Instead of industry coming on here to learn about customers expectations and react to it in a manner that would show leadership, innovation and professionalism, we have industry coming on here and ranting about customer behavior or the apparent lack of appreciation for someone who afterall, did what they are paid to do. How terrible is it for customers to expect even more than what they are getting from their merchants and manufacturers. Is that not what we are really missing to make us industrial/technological leaders? How then, will we ever get back to being the best quality built products in the world, if we as consumers do not convey or demand better? Even your own words come to mind when talking about average expectations: Quote:
This whole issue reminds me of when Lexus first came to market. If you recall, it was not only the cars which attracted people and sales, it was the customer service and support. People could not believe how well they were treated and appreciated. Who was that Lexus guy who championed the new concept in customer service? Oh yeah - Bob Lutz.

My concern is that it is the same old stuff every day. I ordered my car_______(fill in date here)________. It is now ________(Fill in date here)__________. Answer: Don't read a negative sounding thread. Repeatedly. Even though there have been many many posts by Fbodfather and otehrs explaining the process. (3rd Quarter!) Last I looked the end of the third quarter comes on September 30th. Answer: Process was explained AFTER the mess. Sure there are several issues regarding the order system. On the other hand several folks have placed multiple orders at multiple dealers. THat kind of throws sand in the works. Answer: Out of 14,000 orders maybe 50 double ordered, hardly a monkey wrench. There are dealers who accepted orders above heir initial allotment, more sand in the works. People who just come on here to complain who haven't even placed an order. Answer: GM should have a system in place to prevent that. Like a mystery shopper program. It just tends to build up into a rather large pile that starts to wear on many here. Answer: Like I said thread should be in the complaint thread so we won't offend you, so that you won't call us whiners. I really believe we would have much more to gripe about if those of us who placed valid pre-orders didn't have our cars by the end of the third quarter. Then, by all means, even I would be on that bandwagon. Answer: 3rd quarter isnt the issue. It's a person who orders April 1st gets his car be for us. Until we have reached that date I really can't get into the complaint thing. Answer: That's your view and I respect that!! Sorry, that's just my view. Answer: That's your view and I respect that!! And that's about all I have to say here. Answer: likewise...
