Thank you Pete,I've been saying this the whole time..."if" they do come out with a Z28 I believe it will have the LS7.
And I'll be the first one in line to order one

Well maybe since the Gen 5 camaro is a 2 ton behemoth, maybe GM trademarked the Z28 name for the concept Toyota Echo/Camaro cross 130 model. Lol!

We can be thankful that the leaner and meaner folks at GM are car guys. They get it! When they looked at the now ZL1 they knew it was not a Z28. I hope they continue to get it and offer an LS7 based 1LE and call it a Z28.

You missed the point, the ZL1 is the over two ton behemoth, not the 5th gen Camaro in general. The rest of the lineup is under 4,000 lbs.

Oh, how accurate can one be? At least 100 for sure! If so, most won't ever see one. Talk about "Gone in Sixty Seconds".....

..there is still a possibility of the Z28, the big shows this winter will tell the tale if that will come to fruition... crate motor LS7's are a granted.

SEMA, Oct. 30th

LA Auto Show, Nov. 30th

NAIAS (Detroit), Jan. 14th 2013

Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 9th 2013

NY Auto Show, Mar. 29th 2013

IF (capitalized, italics'd) there's going to be a Gen-5 Z28 powered by anything, we'll know in the next 6 months...

...and for my post # 2800, I'll gladly accept an LS7-powered, suitably suspended version in double-BLACK...hold the stripes. If they wanna call it a Z2800, that's fine with me, too...

After all, it's the CONTENT, not the "name", that's REALLY important.

What would be your thought if it was a warmed over LS3 producing about 500HP? Just as excited? Granted it would be a track star, able to run for extended times. Any thoughts on how it would do in 1/4 vs ZL1 if it had 505 HP and stick only say 3.90 gearing?
