Has Anyone Swithched Seats Yet

Curious to see if anyone has changed seats yet. I have cloth and I can get a set of leather ones and I know they will fit fine but not sure how to get the heated part to work. Has anyone tried this yet? Looking for a little help. Thanks Brad

We switched the seat covers in the Camaro we did for Legend. I am not sure if his car had heated seats, but i don't think it would be a problem.

BTW: He has his old leather seat covers " Black" If you didn't have yours yet, he may consider selling them.

One thing i think you have to make sure you disconnect the battery before taking the seats out, or you'll have a airbag code and your car will not start. This is just what i heard.

This is true...The cars computer knows that you have disconnected anything and will throw a code. Best way to get a leather upgrade is to upgrade using Katskins replacement seat material. PM me and I can get you pricing on a kit along with color and option availability. We are also a licensed installer for Katskins if anyone would want us to do a leather upgrade.

What I really want to know is if the whole seat can be changed not just the cover. I can get a set of seats out of a wrecked SS and wondering about the problems I might have changing them. Thanks Brad

From 2010 Camaro to 2010 Camaro is ok, it's just replacing the OE ones with aftermarket or with the seats from another car other than a camaro that will cause problems. The seats have passenger sensors and wiring that will throw a code if not plugged in on startup.

I think the bigger question he seem to have is, what about the heated seats. Seeing that the button is on the temp and fanspeed controls, how would one go about turning them on and off and is there a plug in already there for it to get power?

I don't believe there is a plug for power on the standard cars. We have used this company for installing heated seats into a car (non camaro) that did not originally have them. If you look at the parts page you can purchase a control module, wiring harness and switches without having to buy a whole heated seat kit, since you will have seats that have the heaters in them already. Go here for the parts page: http://www.heatedseatkits.com/heated...rts/index.html

Their buttons look OE and come in dedicated driver and passenger.

These guys replaced the seats and disconected the airbags. I WANT TO KNOW HOW it was done.

These are SEIBON Seats. I have a pair of sick Recaro seats I want to use but I dont know how to get around the airbag.

I know how it was done...We have done it on other cars with airbags. You have to disconnect the battery, disable the SRS, stare at an SRS fault light while you drive and have hard codes in the computer that have to be removed by the dealer. These cars are meant not to be modified in any way and throw codes when parts are changed or removed. It all depends what you want to live with to have a modified computer monitored car.

This is a 2004 Colorado that we disabled the SRS on to install an aftermarket steering wheel. All the problems listed above happened on this truck. Anti lock brake dash light was also on because we scrapped the chevy front suspension in favor of a Mustang II style setup that didn't have the rotor sensors for the computer.
