Optional Brembo Calipers

All I see are silver Brembos on the final production car.
They say "Chevrolet" then "Brembo" in smaller font.

The test mule at the Nurburgring has red calipers - are we just getting silver?

If so - like other manufacturers they should have color options on the Brake Calipers.
Yellow, Red, Black, Silver

True - Then getting "Brembo" stickers under a clearcoat?
Gotta have "Brembo" on the calipers.

Can you clearcoat over powdercoating?

Yeah this is a pet peeve of mine with this car. The Brembos should have been red like they nearly ALWAYS are. Whey mess up a good thing? Red calipers are HOT.

Understand that if you track your car, the clearcoat will most likely turn ugly brown and look like crap. I track my vette and see first hand what happens to all those fancy "painted" calipers unless they use HIGH TEMP materials designed for such use.

Powdercoat is high temp. That is how its applied, baking it on at 450/475 degrees. It holds up better than paint. The only thing i have seen damage powdercoat is antifreeze. I understand that brakes can get signifigantly hotter than that but there is a clear powdercoat that can be put over what ever color you have them done.

engine paint should also work if you want to go a cheap/easy route.

and i know first hand that brakes get EXTREMELY hot, i had mine catch on fire a few months ago....needless to say i now have new rotors and pads

If you really want red, then you can paint them. It doesn't require much effort to make this happen. The ones in Germany were red to draw attention. By creating a buzz about some of the high-performance features of the Camaro, red calipers brought some more attention to an already hot car.

If it's such a little thing then let GM paint them for me before I buy the car.

I mean seriously, why should I have to disassemble my brakes and powder coat them then rebuild the calipers, or have to mask off a bunch of stuff to spray paint on them and hope decals stick on the painted calipers to say Chevrolet or Brembo? Brembo Brakes are almost ALWAYS red. Why are they silver on this car? Even the Challenger's are red.

I used brake caliper paint on my caliper's and it's still holding up after 3 years. I bought mine off of Ebay it was only like $20.

meh my roomate tried caliper paint on my truck and to me it doesnt look to great. i was thinking prolly during the winter or when i know i'm going to be gone for an ext period of time just pop off the caliper and have someone powerdercoat them for me. you could always buy a old oven and get one of the home powerdercoating kits from like eastwood or something.
