I'm not sure how GM decides what to name each RPO code, but since the Z28 was an option for the Camaro back in the 60s, I think whatever RPO GM decides to name the option for 2012 should be the name of the car. I don't know, but I think ZR1 is the RPO code for our fastest Vette. When they mention LS1, LS2, etc, we all know what that means. I say call it whatever the RPO code is for the option.

Yup. Like I said, 1) we've been asking for a Z28, 2) they already have the brand, and 3) internal codenames have no external implications.

It's gonna be a Z28. I'd bet on it.

So what if SLP has a car called the ZL1. GMMG produced the ZL1s in 2002 and GM's COPO did it in 1969.

Many aftermarket companies modify and sell there own version of a car. If GM would call it the ZL1, SLP would most probably take it and make an even more potent aftermarket version of it.

Everyone wins! We get a Mustang BOSS 302 fighter and a GT500 slayer at the same time.
Well well guys... it appears as if I have won out V.S. all you true Camaro 5 members/followers that said it should be called z/28.

THE Z/28 IS DEAD...LONG LIVE THE ZL1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just FYI, how I assumed it was going to be badged ZL1 was after viewing the GMMG website and seeing the 2002 ZL1's and how FBODFATHER had described the vehicle and Becky @ Rodgers Chevrolet initial press release here on Camaro5, was a perfect match to the moniker to be used
