If you get a motorcycle cop behind you or a cop car with their windows down, it is very easy to tell you don't have cats or at the very least that you have an emissions system problem. If you have any of the mobile smog checks that pop up from time to time near freeway enterences, you will get popped. There really isn't a significant power gain by not running them and if you run hi-flow's it will help, as long as you aren't going FI. If you plan on going FI, save the $$$ and go catless. I noticed a very minor tone change when the cats came out. I'm running 1.75" LT's with a JBA axleback (Similar in tone to GMPP and Borla Attak). I'm still running the factory H-pipe with the resonators in it and it was over 125dB WITH the cats and I know it is louder now and it has a higher pitched tone then before when you mash the happy pedal. There is also a little more drone around 1800-2400 rpms.

Where is a good place in the LA/SGV area to get headers installed? I got quoted by two shops, one for 375 and another 750 (lol no way).

It's not hard if you put the car on jack stands, SPCBA will do it for $300 and a 12 pack of beer

Well if you don't have a cat back then you'll have to swing buy a muffler shop

What LT's are you looking at? Most come with either high flows or deletes that will not require you to cut anything.

On a side note, they didn't come with the O2 sensors, I ordered some trapezoidal GM ones but im not sure if trapezoidal is for the front O2 (which I've read is necessary) or the rear O2 (I've read is best to have but not necessary). So trapezoidal for front or back? Thanks!
