Auto Paddle Shifting
I never have driven a manual car before, I have a Auto and ive been wanting to try to paddle shift in Manual/Sport Mode but I dont want to break anything. I am not sure if I were to downshift or upshift quick or slow enough will it ruin anything?

the car will limit you on radical shifts.

As mentioned, the computer will not allow you to make a dangerous downshift. You will get a message that says "shift denied."
But remember, upshifts will not be denied and you will hit the rev limiter if you're not careful. My car is tuned and the computer will allow for more aggressive downshifts. But it still limits me and refuses downshifts that are a little too aggressive. Also, if you ever get your car tuned, you can adjust the automatic downshift speeds. My car automatically drops to 3 gear at 30mph, 2nd at 20mph, and 1st gear at 10 mph. So whenever I drop below 10mph or come to a stop I'm in 1st gear using the tapshifts. |

The paddle shifters are cool to play with but that's about it. They are not F1 shifters. If your in the drivers seat looking to shift and 6000 rpms, you'll hit the stock rev-limiter setting. The RPMs are several hundred RPMs off compared to the RPM gauge. Tampa tuning can make them a better product on your car, but they are not made to shift like you see on TV in F1 series cars.
What I like on the camaros is one hand is for up shift and the other is down shift. On the corvette I tune, either hand can shift up of down and I don't like it as much. Tampa Tuning will make you A6 transmission for fun to use than GM |

Also if you want to make your shifters quicker and easier to reach, it might help to have larger Paddles, it adds a lot of fun , checkout our New design on this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=221115

You have nothing to worry about. I tried it yesterday for the first time. Totally cool. Just take a bit getting use to that's all. When you stay in a gear to long you'll feel like a "strain" somewhat if that makes sense. thats when you change. To me it feels like the car has more power when I drive. But that's just me. I felt the same like you my concern was doing it on the hwy and stalling out or something. But I was on the cross county yesterday blowing it out. (pause) Your good money just try it.

I like pulling it back into second at 45 mph and standing on it. Wheelspin then hauls balls.
