I just checked the local Chevy dealer. No locking cap for the 2010 Camaro in the database, they said. :(

The 1st place that posts a locking gas CAP for the 5th gen will make some $$$$$!!!

Come on, put up!

It would of cost more than 2 bucks. Try 20-50 bucks. This includes button, wires, actuator and lock. And labor required to install, shipping and handling of the parts and all service related to said extra components.

2 bucks might cover the wires.

Check your local auto store. There is only a few sizes and they are all universal. Why spend $20-$30 for a gas cap because they say it's for the Camaro when you can buy one that is the same size for $5.

Already checked NAPA. NADA. Stant (gas cap manufacturer) doesn't list a locking cap yet either.

Maybe a dumb thought but I have not got my car yet so I can not check this. On many European cars like MB, BMW. Audi and so on the gas door is locked when the car is locked. Has someone checked if the Camaro has this..

Keeps the gas in, but does it keep the sugar or rice (literal not figurative) out?

Nope. You'd think GM would tack on the 20 bucks it would take to do that onto the price of the car and call it a day, but nope, we're out of luck.

I too am more worried about bad stuff going into my tank than good stuff coming out.

If they want your gas, as someone else said they'll probably go straight for the tank now. Like any other crime prevention, the key is to make yourself a less appealing target than something else. So park next to some massive lifted SUV with a nice big tank sitting high off the ground and you'll be good. The guy who parks next to me used to keep his GPS unit mounted on his windshield overnight. It always made me feel safer, since any would-be thief would go straight for his car and ignore mine.
