Auto Transport Company?

Anybody know of any good, reputable, reasonably priced auto transport companies? I need to have my new SS moved from PA to TX and with so many companies around, I was wondering if anybody can give me a name that they've used...

I used DAS (dependable auto shippers) for a move from ND to LA (the state) and they did fine, even arrived early. Also if your close to thier terminals its cheap!

Another company I used once before just ended up sub-contracting out to a guy with a flatbed trailer so be sure to make sure that doesn't happen! I was kinda pissed that I wasn't told upfront that they would do that. Can't recall the company's name though.

Forget DAS - they are the worst and I dont know of a single car they have ever moved and not damaged. Fedex is a second rate carrier - I would not trust them with my car.

Call Intercity Lines - they only transport 100% enclosed and have done many high dollar cars for me with not even as much as dust on them. Ask for Jeff Degnan and he will make sure you are treated well.

Thought about doing that!! We have some free flights on SW, just didn't wanna put 1,700 miles on the car right away and have to dedicate three days to driving it home...

Anyone ever used Patriot Auto Carriers before? They seem to be reasonably priced, and seem to be very honest and caring.

Not sure how big of a help it will be, but I found my transporter (from Wisconsin to Hawaii with help from the site -- thanks CamaroScotty!) on:

http://www.transportreviews.com/

I just went with one of the companies that was reasonably priced and had a decent amount of reviews. I picked Nationwide Transport Services LLC and so far have not had a problem. Arranged it Monday, and Wednesday (Scotty's day off ) my shipper called asking for another number because he wasn't there. Picked it up and it's on it's way to Cali now to take a nice relaxing boat ride.

It wasn't much, but if you are military, most of the ones I was talking too on the phone offer a discount, from $25 - $50 or so.

Hope that helps!

DAS moved my car from CA to TX a few years ago. It was less than a year old and when it was delivered it was missing part of a side stripe, had a dent in the bumper, front grill cracked and antenna was bent. They guy delivering it almost drove it off the truck with a chain still on the axel. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU LIKE YOUR CAR.

www.uship.com

its like ebay for shipping cars and stuff. you can put an ad up for transporting your car, and the shippers bid on it.

This is a novel idea, but I don't think I'd want to let the lowest bidder transport my 30k car around. You often get what you pay for...

I know there is a patriot transport aroud New Hampshire not sure if the same guy but it is not an enclosed trailer which is what you want. Do not use open carrier. Go encloseed and spend the money. I have an enclosed triailer but would be quite expensive for me to got that far. LOL
