Would you buy from this dealer or walk?
2015 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS NAV SUNROOF LEATHER Coupe
$28788 //after taxes and tags =$31113 Drive Line:RWD Transmission:6-Speed Manual Model Code:1ET37 Engine:V8 SFI Mileage:13,092 miles MPG Range:16/24 Exterior Color:Ashen Gray Interior Color:Black Stock #:0061518A Trim:2SS NAV SUNROOF LEATHER Bodystyle:Coupe VIN:2G1FJ1EW8F9133137 Radio: AM/FM Stereo w/Color Touch, Front Sport Bucket Seats Certified Carfax One owner Got pissed and walked out after signing because were told would get $500 extended warranty when signing then they bait and switched us by trying to tell us it was only for one year and that was a discount, but they could charge us 1500 for a three year??!!!! My husband wants to go back and buy it without the warranty. I am just pissed off and want to find another car. My husband was not able to get them down more than a few hundred bucks and I think he laid his cards on table with these guys up front, telling them he is paying cash vs financing, and so sealed his fait. Also, it has been hard finding another car for a lower *advertised* price in Maryland, buuuttt I feel like we should take this deal elsewhere and see who can compete ( haven't visited other dealers LIVE yet) as I care more about the TOTAL price after all the bullsh*t is tacked on, not the purchase price in and of itself. Thoughts? Thanks everyone! |

Yup 20% off a new 2016 Camaro. That's. The way to go unless u like the Gen 5 better than the Gen 6. But I'd shop elsewhere regardless.

$28k is actually a good retail price for a loaded 2015 2SS w/sunroof and nav or npp as most in your area are $31-33k, but I would make some phone calls and shop around and not look back. I have little tolerance for dealing with the pond scum as you describe, if they call you back offer them $25k or tell them to suck eggs.
There are 2 non-sunroof 2SS near you with ~1,000 miles on them being advertised for $31k. Dealers always advertise above their bottom line, you can nearly always take 5%-10% off the advertised price, offer them $28k. If you expand your search, about 15 more to choose from. There is even a white 2015 1LE private sale available for $31k which would be a superior purchase if you want to stay within the 5th gen line. Current 6th gen incentives are 25% off + any additional dealer hold back incentives. Many dealers will attempt to "sell" you on some business practice that it's 20%, they are flat lying to your face or the dealer is refusing to pass along the manufacture rebate they are receiving and holding 5% for themselves. In essence, letting you know up front of the negotiations that they have no intentions of dealing wit you fairly. Current target price on a $47k fully loaded 2SS with Sunroof and Navigation (OR NPP), without the trackpack is $35k. There are dealers tossing in an additional 2k and if you get a hold of a dealer that has an "older" 2016 on their lot, it's possible to obtain one as low as $31k. like others have indicated

I bought my 2015 2SS/RS with 9500 miles on it last week for 26,200. GM certified with 4 year 40k bumper to bumper and 100k powertrain warranty.
I would run not walk. |

I followed Car Guru for about a month getting email notification for any new listing with the specs I was looking for within 500 miles. I missed a couple deals before I realized how quick the really good deals sold. The car listed and I called the dealership and ask them for a detailed video of the car of any blemishes that may be present. Once I ask all my questions I put a deposit on the car and drove 300 miles and picked it up the following weekend.

I don't know, that deal doesn't sound like a bad deal. I'm sure there are better out there to be had, but that's not an unreasonable price for that car.
As far as the warranty issue, maybe I'm a little confused, so they were throwing in the one year extended in the deal? If so, that basically adds on the year of warranty that you missed in seeing that it has 13K miles on it. Of course they're going to try and sell you a longer one, and all kinds of other stuff, that's their job. Yes or no is your choice. I personally don't anything really shady about trying to sell the additional warranty. If you like the car, it has the options you want, I'd say get it. Like I said, you might find a better deal, but how long do you want to search, how far do you want drive, how many salespeople do you want to talk to before you do, and how much better will that deal be? Now, if it's not the car you really want, well there's no such thing as a good deal on the wrong car. |
