OC Auto Show -- Looking for cars...

OC Auto Show - October 15-18, 2009

Remember last year when WCFB went around the various car sites looking for Camaro owners who wanted to show their car at a major auto show (no trophies here, just a lot of people looking at your awesome car)?? Well the time has come around again and West Coast F-Bodies is looking for sixteen (16) participants who would like to get major media exposure for their vehicle RIGHT NEXT TO THE GM booth!!

That's right, your car will sit kiddie-korner to the brand new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. What's that? You *have* a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro? THAT'S AWESOME! We need any/all makes and models in the show, from v6 to v8, SS and Z28 - we want them ALL!. Mods or no mods, showroom stock or slightly modified, we welcome it all!

If you would like to show your car at the Anaheim Convention center from October 15-18, 2009 - contact West Coast F-Bodies with:

Year / Model
Specs on car
Modifications
Owner Name
Contact Information

-- The sooner we know about your car the better off your chances of getting into the show! We only have 16 spots to fill and we are looking to show Orange County how strong the Camaro Enthusiast Community really is and HOW MUCH WE LOVE OUR CARS!! If you are interested again - send email to info@wcfb.cc with the subject of OC AUTO SHOW in it!.

SEE YOU AT THE SHOW!

West Coast F-Bodies

no one will be "in" your car.

the car show is a "viewing only" type thing for us enthusiasts. if anyone wants to be "in" your car, they'll have to go to the chevy booth and climb in that one.

i wouldn't want anyone "in" my car either and if they tried it on any of the cars displayed - the security guards might have issues (the ones walking the floor)

fyi we did this last year and no one went inside anyones car - thats not how this works. GM is just looking to show people the love and fanatacism for the camaro over the years - nothing more. no trophies, just crowds and pics.

So, what are the logistics? Meaning, drop car off on the 15th, pick it up on the 18th?

I'm in San Diego and it's not too far of a drive for me...

Here's how it works:
(ala last years logistics)

People will drop their cars off 1-2 days before the show actually opens (mon/tue) - Monday will be evening drop off, Tuesday will be morning drop off. Wednesday will be final prep and moving cars around to their proper locations and such at which times ALL cars positive battery cables WILL BE REMOVED (for various reasons).

All cars will be checked to make sure they have 1/4 tank of gas or less in them (again for various reasons) and the show will open on Wed. Night for the press - special press release type thing.

Thursday the show opens to the public and goes through Sunday - October 18.

ALL CARS MUST BE PICKED UP ON SUNDAY @ CLOSE.

Can we make a "No WS6 hoods" rule this year? All of the cars looked great last year, but that one kinda killed it for the whole section.

modifications are modifications, and any modified cars - if they want to show themselves in the OC Auto show - are welcome to be there.
We don't pass judgement on anyone's personal taste or opinion about their vehicle.

UPDATE

Move-in will be: Wednesday, October 14, 2pm – 5pm
For those that work during that day, they can arrive by 8pm that night. This will be the ONLY day that the cars will be put into the display as the show starts the following day.

Move-out will be: Sunday, October 18
Actual move-out will begin about 30-45 minutes after show closes at 7pm, so 7:30pm or 7:45pm.

They need enough time to pull the aisle carpet before cars can start to move out.
