12.94 for the ZL1? There's been stock SS's that have done better.

It looks like the ZL1 driver was inexperienced based on his burnout and launch. The wheels looks different than a stock ZL1 (black face with chrome or silver rim), so maybe this car's a clone?

Appearently, based on what I read elsewhere, its the real deal.

At the end of the day, your performance on the track is what matters. You are only limited to your own driving abilities, and as the video shows the ZL1 driver wasn't the best..So it obviously got destoryed by the GT500

The guy in the ZL1 admittedly is not a good drag racer.

Does it really matter who is stock who is modded, I think we all know that the 2013 GT500 is the king of the quarter mile (between these two w/ equal drivers).. I don't see anyone (except delusional fan boys) arguing anything different.

That isn't to take away from the ZL1. Hey, there are tons of cars out there faster than my car, I personally don't care. I don't have to own the fastest car in the market or even the fastest car in the class to be happy with my car.

My goodness...why does this video keep getting posted over and over and over. This is the 3rd or 4th thread about it....I think people like to drum up drama.

First off, that ZL1 was confirmed by Torq to have been in stock condition besides the wheels and tires, and was also not a good run.

2nd...that GT500 was also not stock.

Last we all know the GT500 is the better drag car.....and that this video proves nothing.

There is plenty of evidence to support a stock 2013 GT500 can run 11.8 in stock form.

Secondly, we already know its the "faster" car.

Thirdly, we already know stock ZL1s can run 12.4 in stock form.

If the GT500 was NOT stock, then both drivers are equally bad.

I already started a thread on this vid...the GT500 is Leathal Performances and has CAI, off road X pipe, tune and a tire...ZL1 was stock. Eric chimmed in and admitted he has very little experience on a drag strip and the driver of the GT500 has tons and knows how to bang gears.

Huh?

The GT500 ran a 11.3 (not an 11.8) and was NOT stock. I know this for a fact...I'm not assuming anything. This same car ran mid 10s later on because it used a shot of nitrous. It was tuned and wearing DRs...and I may be missing something else.

EDIT:...never mind...see LINMUP's response above

That's pretty close to stock. The way I interpreted everyone's response of "the mustang isnt stock" was that it had actual mods, not a CAI, exhaust, and tires. I was thinking people were indicating it had some higher end mods.

11.3 it is. I said in stock form the GT500 can run 11.8. Not that I saw an 11.8 on the board. And again, considering I was thinking the GT500 had what I consider "real mods" an 11.3 would be low imo. Knowing its just a cai, exhaust, and tires... 11.3 sounds good.

The person driving the ZL1 simply needs a little seat time - it will go much quicker than 12.9. I guess it kind of goes to show that you can't just jump in to ANY 580+ HP car...especially on street tires....and expect to make "hero runs". It actually does take some practice and even a little bit of skill (some road racers would have you to believe there is nothing to it...just push and go).

As for the GT500....excellent driver. Know him personally. Car went quicker and faster with those mods than what has been posted on the net. Unfortunately, it was a magazine shoot, so actual numbers can't be released until the magazine comes out.
