Window tint any suggestions?

Went and checked on a price for window tint today for her 2LT/RS. The dude shot me two prices at me: 169.00 for a 3 yr. guarantee (sic) / 189.00 for lifetime. I think I'll go with the lifetime as it covers any imperfections, etc. for the lifetime that I have the car.

My main question is, of those out there that have had their windows tinted, what percent of tint would you recommend? Keep in mind, it's her daily driver..

I would go with as dark as legally possible in your state. Seeing out won't be a problem.

I went with 20% (22 to be exact) on my Camaro.
My previous Camaro (2010 2LT/RS) had 35%, and I felt they were still not dark enough...

50% so you can still see at night. It's just enough to cut down on the heat and still look good.

most states have a law telling you the darkest you can go. Here in WV it is 35% all the way round with only 6 inches at the top of the wind sheild allowed. Though I have seem many that are at least 20% or darker and they manage to get away with it. Ask around and find out what others are running in your area and that will give you a good idea of what is "allowed" Got mine with johnson tint for 99 bucks at auto pro tint here in morgantown; does it and they pretty much tint every car in the whole town!

Make sure the "lifetime" warranty covers the labor, as that is the expensive part of having your windows tinted. Many places only cover the warranty materials then expect you to pay for the labor.

The places I've used that offer lifetime on their labor have done phenomenal jobs and obviously believe in their work.

I recently went too light on my DD's tint by just a hair, and I won't make that mistake on the Camaro. If you're at all uncertain, I'd advise going the darker of the two.

I so wanted the 20%, but it's illegal in NC. Be sure to look on the internet as to what the legal limit is in your state. Went with the 35% that legal here in NC, looks darker though cause my car is dark (CGM).

40% is good..just dark enough you won't have to worry about the law and you can see outside at night. A friend of mine has a mustang and he has 25%. You should have seen his face when he told me he had to have it removed and take the car to the police station to verify it.
