Update on Camaro Shipping

Per Chevrolet today via the dealer "Hot Sheet"...

"Although production starts on Monday, March 16, the actual shipping of units from Oshawa will not commence for another week to ten days. A notice will be sent to all dealers when Camaro shipping commences."

Just an FYI for everyone. The plant must build cars so they can fill trucks and ship them. This takes a little time. From past experience with Impala, these cars have to come accross the border and this takes time as well.

It won't be long before Camaros will be blowin' the doors off those Mustangs!

Not if I'm driving it.

I'm 2-1/2 hours away; I'd give my left nut to be able to pick it up but oh well...

p.s. Thanks for the updates !

Soooo, what was the average Impala shipping time?
We talking 10 20 30 40 days from production date, assuming you cars built within the first 2 weeks. Of course depends on location, but how bout to wisconsin EVS dealer?

I think that figure is on a car that is already in production and that time is from the time you place your order until it arrives at the dealership. that is about how long every car I have ordered that was already in production took...If your order has already been in the system and if it is already got a TPW, you can expect that time to be cut in half.. so probably if your TPW is the first week of production I would expect it would be at your dealership in no more than 3 to 4 weeks...

That sounds better,

I guess We can all only wait and see. And since no one has an actual
TPW yet First week of may sounds feasible for my status 3000

We had a "sold order" Impala SS built and shipped and it took close to two weeks after it came off the line. Corvettes on the other had arrive in just a few days after coming off.

Under normal production, in the case of Camaro after March 16th, from order to build usually does take 6-8 weeks. Our Corvettes run 4-6 weeks with our volume.

Sorry to hear about the tax increase! Hope it's not too much. Sorry if I came accross making it sound like it would take months. We run in to the same thing with Mexico built vehicles too. We all want our cars, but they have to ship them by the truck load not each individual car, unfortunately.

What about later build months, like April? Are we just talking about intial shippments, or all shippments from now on. If mine gets built in the first week of april, it could be well into May befor I see it?

They don't need to fill an entrie truck with just camaros do they. They can mix it in with other cars coming to my city too, right?
