ZL1 featured on Gearz with Stacy David

Not sure if anyone watches Gearz but Stacy David drove the ZL1 on tonight's show.


It was only 4-5 minutes but drove it pretty hard and thought it was better than the Shelby and STR-8.

Gearz is my favorite car show.

It was good show. Apparently it was taped during the ZL1 get together at VIR as they showed footage from inside the barn where the ZL1's were on display. Stacey rated the GT500 and Challenger SRT-8 a 10....and the ZL1 an "11"....

Thanks for the heads up!! Got a chance to record it on the DVR. Can never get enough HD video of the ZL1 Especially when there is a ton of tire smoke

I just watched it and it was a fun look at the car. From praise for GM, burnouts and even donuts, it was very entertaining for sure! What a fantastic car......... Mine finally shipped on 4/7 and I can't wait for it to get here.

While he praised the ZL1 I was not too fond of his other comments..He said that ford stepped it up with the GT500, Dodge Stepped it up with the SRT but Chevy put all their effort into the Volt..that nobody wants. How do we know the ZL1 is not just a re-badged regular old Camaro... Yea because we all know what a boat anchor the regular old Camaro is... What a douchnozzle.. Had I know what a piece of shit the regular old Camaro was I may not have bought one..

We all know the ZL1 is the class of the field and will kick the guts out of an SS but he didn't need to make the SS sound like a turd to build up the ZL1.. The ZL1 will speak loud enough on it's own...

That's just another show that doesn't really tell you anything but where to buy the products that they want to push. He's way to happy all the time. That laugh gets old.

I'll be keeping my eyes open for this episode. I really like David, however the comments you guys are posting are a little off-putting... He may have just been using hyperbole, for effect; I guess, because I've watched him since he was on Trucks, I'll give him the benefit of a doubt.

Regardless - I'm all about seeing CAMARO on TV, so I'm eager to watch this one. Maybe I'll buy the DVD, too

FWIW - ZL1 was previewed on Motorweek, too. I posted that information in another Thread. It's not on-line yet, but you might catch a rerun

Actually, he was just pointing out the mustang and challenger had their ultra high performance line but the camaro didn't have one.

He was worred like others that the top end, limited 69' ZL1 name with 600 hp (which I didn't know about) was just going to be just a package deal ala z06 unlike what the other manufacturers were doing. Like when the 442 became just a visual package in the 80s.

If it was as visual package, it would have been "You mean the SS is all you got? The others are in the 500+!"

Thats not how I saw it.. Harsh words especially when the SS is still in the same ballpark as the two he was referencing. That is assuming he is talking about the SRT392 and the GT500 .. If he was talking about the SRT8 the SS beats it..You would never suspect that by the way he referred to the" regular old Camaro"..
