This just happened to me, though not nearly as bad. I mostly scraped the hell out of the underside and that bottom nose tip. I pulled into a very busy parking lot and the only spot open was on a corner with a car next to it. As I pull in what I do not know is that the spot also serves as a storm drain and has a dip at the front. The car that was parked was one of those people that pull all the way to the curb until their tires touch so I completely misjudged the distance and heard a grind. Got out and the front was resting on the elevated storm drain cover. Needless to say I was pissed the rest of the night. Fortunately most of it is underneath with only that bottom tip visible from the front. I picked up some touch up paint just so that the black plastic wasnt so visible with a yellow car.

Don't feel so bad as I had mine 1 day when I parked a bit too close and scratched the underside of the lower valance. I feel your pain though. At least mine you don't see unless you are under the car. I still know it is there and it drives me nutts.

jmhenry5150, as far as replacing it, its pretty easy. I believe there is a thread somewhere describing where all teh screws are....its about 10 to 12 or so. There have been pleanty of guys in my club that have taken theirs off for one reason or another, only took them about 30 minutes or so.
This!!

Or somoene needs to mfr a license plate frame with sensor (if you have front plates) that is small enough not to be noticed. It's possible, we have the technology!!

Or we could just learn the length of our vehicles and gently put it into the spot. Get out and take a look if you have to.

Just me though, ive tapped my nose on the camaro but I was going slow enough that I could feel it through the clutch. No mark.

I barely scratched the under side of Ginger's chin once. I now back into all my spots and let the sensors and camera do their job.

I am always surprised how close folks with low cars park to curbs and parking barriers. I learned my lesson when I parked up to a barrier secured with rebar. The rebar went right through my oil pan and in 10 seconds I had no oil at all. Better to stay back 1 foot or two. Hopefully you can get your machine fixed and have learned like I did.
