SS badging on/near Gauge Cluster

I've noticed a discrepancy of late on the existence, placement, and coloring of the SS badges near the gauges.

Dragoneye's pictures from Indy. Here we have the SS logo under both the tach and speedy but just engraved/molded into the plastic and not colored.

HeatherR's 1SS. No SS emblems.

Montreal auto show 2ss... (can't see right one but it looks like it's blank from the angled pictures). Nothin.

Det Musl's NAIAS pictures. White emblem on under tach, none under speedo.

Rally Yellow SS JsIROC found in Michigan. Can't see speedo but white SS under tach.

Yellow 1SS in Oshawa. White under tach, nothing under speedo.

So I would consider the CTF cars to be the "most recent". HeatherR's CTF car and the Montreal car are Canadian (speedo is KM/h) and both are missing the emblems. But, the yellow one spotted in Michigan has the white emblem under the speedo. Thisis similar to the one spotted in Oshawa (unknown if CTF or EX). The auto show cars *should* be exactly like production but that adds to the confusion as the show car in Canada is different than the one in Detroit. The Detroit car had an EX vin so it's likely an old car that was modified to be more production-like. I would guess that the Montreal SS is the same way. The indy car is really old so I would assume that since all the cars since have been different it's wrong.

So, the evidence seems to point that US SS cars get a white SS emblem under the speedo (along with the 180mph speedo) and the Canadian SS's don't get anything. I can't believe that this is correct but that's what it looks like.

P.S... I can't believe I just took all that time to dig up pics and write up the info on something so small lol.

Good job.
I think the SS in Detroit is the closest one to production so I would see that one as the correct one.

I had the same question...I sure hope that it comes white/chrome (preferably chrome) under both the tach and speedo

That's the thing, it doesn't appear to be. The yellow imperial gauged 1ss from Oshawa has it as does the 2ss from NAIAS. The only trend I can see is that the US cars get the white SS emblem under the tach but the Canadians get nothin.

I think it's safe to say that these are all showing various levels of development...and I'd also go out on a limb and say both gauges will have a white SS on them in production trim...only because it looks so lop-sided with only one. Could be wrong.

I tend to agree. Unless GM gips us Canadians out of it... then i'll be pissed.

if it was a Canadian vs American thing, ill be pissed, maybe even boycott lol
But i have to agree, it should be on both gauges with White emblems or chrome, chrome would be better, but i dont understand why every car has something different,, its starting to annoy me now,
Im sure it safe to say you will be getting 2 white SS logos, maybe they were testing which one they liked better lol i have no clue, i just hope you SS guys get your emblems

Thank GOD I thought I was the only one....

right under speedo? I know it was stated they are the same color and molded or engraved...I must not be looking in the right place

EDIT:...ahhh there it is, brighten the resolution on your screen and you will see it. It is black with gray backing. Look at the fuel gauge, not the speedo and it is that lil black ..umm...nub? where the gauge is rotated...Only on the first picture that I can see.
