Sounds like trouble. You can get "impersonating a police officer" ticket for having blue or red lights on the front of your car lol. Let alone decals

Here is my good friends cop car

Enjoy !!

I'd have reservation about doing a police car that is driven on the street, even if it were legal in your area you may end up with more headaches that you would like

Horrible idea. Beyond the normal reasons. What chick WANTS to get picked up for a date and have a night on the town in a cop car?

Seems like a really bad idea to me. Even if the Chief of a local town says its ok, whos to say a state trooper or another police driving through isnt going to at least pull you over and start asking questions... just unnecessary hassle imo

To the best of my knowledge it's ok for show purposes but when driving they usually require that the police markings are covered up. Usually they use magnetic panels that just cover them up.

Just do it all up without the decals. Push bar, light bar in rear window the works. Everyone will think you are unmarked and you'll have a free pass to drive like a bat outta hell.

When they used to transport Barricade [Saleen Cop Car from Transformers] as pictured in OP, they covered the Police part on the side. The lights, pushbar, etc. you can only do so much but you get the idea.

One of my coworkers got a used Charger from an auction which had the antenna and pushbar still and he got a lot of flak for it. He ended up taking the pushbar off.

A buddy of mine actually restores Mustangs that were old patrol cars. He is currently doing a 92 Kansas SSP. He has completed and sold an 88 Alabama car and a 89 Texas DPS car.

When ever he takes them out he usually tapes over the police decals and has never had any troubles.

The worst part about the idea -- any time he drives anywhere everyone's going to drive slow around him and it'll get annoying after awhile. I always feel bad for officers when I see them driving on the freeway and the people around him/her drive like 5-10 mph under the speed limit because they're so scared.

Black cars with white doors are illegal for civilians to drive in Ca.
Any display of "police" on a civilian vehicle will get you arrested for impersonation.
Due to drive by shootings, vandalism and firebombings, I won't even park a genuine marked police car in front of my house.

I don't know about the impersonating aspect but I would think if you made an exact replica you could have issues with Hasbro and Pixar. (Maybe)
