When a strong sounding v8 pulls up beside you at the light......99 percent of the population knows what they are hearing, yea it is self explanatory.....they are not saying is that a v6?

I highly doubt that as well.

Or, they might just think it's a loud sounding car.

Actually not true, my neighbor that lives directly across the street from me has a modded 06 GTO, and didn't know my camaro is a V6. He sees& hears me start/drive my car pretty much everyday and had no clue. Not justifying my V6 sounds like a V8, just saying. Some really cant tell. I have a Borla Atak axel back

how much of an improvement are headers on the LLT engine? does it offer more gains than the incorporated "headers" on the LFX?

I couldn't say, I was just trying to stand up for the LLT guys.

There's probably a reason they are incorporated.

Long tubes are always fun though.

You can't put headers on a LFX engine.

I don't think anyone said you can.

I had a 2012 LFX wasn't happy after the purchase six months later Test drove a two SS L 99 it felt like a dog so I test drove another one down the road and what a difference it was a 2SSL 99 but probably had good gas and a fuse pull
I drive it in the sport mode, with the paddles it automatically turns off the AFM, I always burn 93 octane and that car rocks
It is a large difference between The LFX and my 2SS
That's my story and I'm sticking to it,,,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!

Both my 2013 LFX RS and the 2012 L99 were automatic transmissions. in terms of acceleration I felt both were on even playing fields. I noticed the power band bald spot that I normally experience in 4th around 5,500 grand disappeared in the L99 and it seemed as if it could push through with more notable but not a significant difference in power through 5th and 6th gear. My over all assessment? If your going for an SS buy the Manual or put the difference in cost into bolt on engine modifications into a 2LT (RS preferably) either way you slice it you'll get the most bang for you buck out of either 5th gen Camaro experience. Don't believe me? I encourage each of you LFX owners to head out to your local dealer and put L99 to the test yourself (minus the 2LS of course).
I drive my sisters LFX and my L99 interchangeably. There is a HUGE difference in the two.

Ok, for the record...a V6 Camaro is NO WAY NO HOW NOT ON ANY LEVEL performing like a V8. If it did, then GM would not be making the SS with a v8. So no matter how convoluted or diluted or delirious you might be, your V6 whether its the LS or LT or LFX is not as fast as any of the V8s. If you think it is, then either you can't tell the difference, or you're totally lying to yourself. Because if you put a 100 shot on your car, and said you can't feel the difference, then you're an idiot or you're a liar. Get over it. Your car is not as fast. The V6 is indeed a fast car. But it is not a SS. And while it was built to perform in astounding measures, it cannot add up to the SS. Be happy with your performance. But stop trying to justify and compare yourselves to the SS. Because if there is no difference between the V6 and the V8, then there is no difference between the SS and the ZL-1...and we all know that is a huge load of crap. The 6s are not running 13 flat. They are mid to low 14s at best. And 1-1.5 seconds is a HUGE difference in performance. So next time you add some mods to your V6 and think "wow that made a difference", just remember that you are still a great deal shy of a stock SS.
