my dealer 160 miles from my house should i drive it home or can i have it shipped
hey everyone I know I should be asking my dealer this but im ordering my car from the largest chevy dealer in the country and unfortunetly its 160 miles from my house. Since i am paying them a 795 dollar destination charge to have it shipped to the dealer would they have it shipped to my house for that price or are they going to charge me extra to have it delived to me, or maybe can they ship it to a dealer close to my house . does anyone know how this works or what i should do I appreciate your responses thanks people.

why are you ordering form the a dealer so far? going with the biggest doesnt always mean the best. and no they will probably not deliver it for free. Would you if you were them?
you should totally drive it home. you are not going to want to stop driving once you get it. plus there is 160 off your break in mileage. what are you ordering? |

Why would they deliver it for free? It will cost you. Anyway, what's 160 miles?? I mean I know I live in Texas where everything is bigger, but that's not very far. And what better way to enjoy the new Camaro than with a nice drive back home?? That's what I'd do.

You can have them drop ship it to another dealer but that needs to be set up before it arrives at your dealer.
My guess is they will charge you to have it shipped to you. Probably the same as a tow truck rate for that many miles.

The shipping cost is from plant to dealer ..... The dealer still has to do the prepping, and the fact they own the car until you sign on the dotted line.....

160 mile tow would be BIG money! The wanted $150 to tow my IROC about 40 miles on a flatbed. Screw that, it was cheaper to rent a Uhaul trailer and tow it myself!

Drive it home, part of your break in process.

Drive! Someone fell out of a Camaro exactly the way I was ordering and I took it - saved months! However, they are 460 miles away. Can you say break-in time? I'm using it to my advantage. Come home, do oil change, Zaino it, and I'm off...

I ordered mine from a dealer/friend in Virginia and I live on Long Island, about 300+ miles away...when my car came in, we hopped on Amtrak the next day to Virginia and drove our "baby" home to NY...it was the ultimate "road trip"..........

I also ordered from a dealership about the same distance. They were the only MSRP dealer with allocation I could find. Drive the sucker home, gives you time to get a feel for the car and get some of that break in mileage over with. I should be making the trip today if all goes well.

Personally, I'd drive. You may want to consider if you're planning on following the recommended break in process and if so, will you be able to drive that way on the way home? If you're going to hop on a highway and hit the cruise control, it would be against the owner's manual to drive extended periods at one speed fast or slow.
