Whipple Installation Question

I recently installed a Whipple 2.9 S/C on my 2013 Camaro. After driving it about 50 miles I noticed the the hood liner has rub marks from hitting the S/C and the intercooler reservoir cap. See rub mark in picture below. Anyone else have the problem? I had my stripes painted in my hood by the dealer, could the dealer have installed my hood incorrectly or is the supercharger kit to blame?Name: image.jpg

Mine rubs too. Mostly where the reservoir cap is.

How long has yours rubbed? Has it caused any long-term problems?

I think this is common with the Whipple. I put a few pieces of packing tape on top of the Whipple in the front to keep the liner from rubbing the paint off the charger as I like to go to car shows and want it to look nice. The reservoir cap rubs as well. I have exhausted every source looking for a tank with a lower profile. Torq used to make one but does not now.

Has this caused you any long-term problems, besides aesthetic problems?

Mine has rubbed ever since I installed it. Not as bad as yours though. My engine rocked back and forth a lot, so I installed Prothane motor mounts.

No problems. The jack shaft pulley also hit the passenger side Hex Vent drain pan requiring me to put a dimple in it to clear. Minor stuff. No performance issues. If it bothers you a different motor mount may help to lower the motor.

I haven't noticed the cap rub.
But the hood liner has the "whipple" lettering almost completely legible now.

Mine is doing that too. I contacted Whipple. They said that they recommend removing the hood liner because it could mar the finish on the blower or they suggest cutting out the liner where it hits. I removed the liner and the coolant reservoir cap STILL hits!
